Valor Process Preparation 12.0 Update 1 Available

Hi there

We have just posted 12.0 Update 1 to SupportNet for those users who have already downloaded and installed 12.0 which came out a few weeks ago.

This update includes the first release for the IPC 2581 Revision A format as a CAM reader in Process Preparation. Although not common, we have had some requests to support this format so we have released this now as part of the Process Preparation suite.

For those of you using SPEA ICT machines, this update also adds flexibility to the feedback of the TP List file where we were seeing multiple formats for the renaming of test probes.

This is great news…..but we’re only half way there.

When will I be allowed to Export IPC-2581 from Valor? I need to pass my PCB assembly in the IPC XML format so my PLM environment can augment the product structure with other related BOM, Firmware, Drawing, Spec, and Revision information.

Is this in the future plans?

Hi Gary

Thanks for taking the time to read my blog and post this question. At this time we do not have plans to export IPC-2581. Our tools create the industry standard ODB++ format as a means of providing Assembly, Test and Fabrication data all in a single container for Board, Panel and BOM information.
